El Pama Red Room Speakeasy in Fort Lauderdale is a cocktail lounge that leans into the classic speakeasy vibe but with a distinctly accessible twist. Located on N Federal Hwy, the entrance can be a bit tricky to spot at first — it’s behind an understated door that blends into the street — which adds a little bit of the clandestine thrill you’d expect from a speakeasy, though many locals seem to already know where it is, and sometimes entry is more straightforward than you might think.

Inside, the space is intentionally dark and intimate, with moody lighting and a relaxed, lounge-style atmosphere that suits late-night drinks and low-key conversations. There’s a definite "old-school" feel with a modern edge, making it a good spot for those who appreciate crafted cocktails served with care—bartenders here take their mixing seriously and bring a level of artistry to each drink. The cocktail menu tends to hover around mid-range prices for the area and offers a solid variety for people who enjoy exploring different flavors without feeling overwhelmed by too many choices.

If you arrive early evening when the place opens (which can sometimes be a bit later than Google suggests), you’ll likely catch a quieter scene, perfect for unwinding after work or settling in for a relaxed date night. While it’s intimate inside, it’s not so hidden that it feels exclusive or unwelcoming, which makes it approachable for both locals and visitors who want a change of pace from the usual bar scene.

Food is available but seems to play a supporting role to the drinks. The menu includes hearty bar-style offerings like Southern Fried Chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese with unique twists, and fresh salads that hint at a balance between comfort and lighter options. This mix suits groups looking to pair solid eats with their cocktails without needing a full dinner out.

Overall, El Pama fits well into Fort Lauderdale’s nightlife as a spot for cocktail enthusiasts and those who appreciate a lounge atmosphere that’s not overly flashy—good for chilling with friends, enjoying a thoughtfully made drink, and escaping the louder, more crowded venues nearby.

Cool speakeasy in FLL. Door is not easy to find - but that’s part of the fun for a speakeasy, som I’m not gonna spoil it ;) You need a code to enter. Website (also its written in the door sign, which is a bit lame tbh). Cocktails are great. Atmosphere is amazing. Dark and intimate, like a speakeasy should be! Definitely recommend!

Stopped by The Brass Tap for lunch and a couple drinks. The beer selection was amazing! Over 40 beers and tap plus countless others in cans/bottles. As well as a delicious cocktail menu. Outdoor seating is available to enjoy the beautiful South Florida weather. The grilled cheese pictured was delicious! Granny Smith apples, bacon jam, and ham. If you like good food and an amazing selection of beer, definitely give this place a shot while in Fort Lauderdale!

Without question one of the coolest cocktail lounged I've ever been. Set up with a speak easy feel to it, you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. The guy working was the bar was a true artist, putting his soul into every drink and they were all AMAZING. I'd move to Ft Lauderdale just to hang at this place, highly recommend you stop by if in the area.

A kind if Speakeasy place in Fort Lauderdale with a very lounge-y atmosphere, darkish, relaxing and good chilling music. I am saying “a kind of” because to be a speakeasy it’s very easy to find, pretty much everybody knows where it is and often no code is needed, because they open the door for you. Cocktails are pretty good, well done, around $ 15, which is not outrageous in South Florida and actually is the kind of price you can find in any bar. They have sofas, small tables, it’s the kind of place you go when you need to relax and don’t look for big and loud crowd. I’ll stop again if in the area, it’s a nice place, different than your regular overcrowded bar and sometimes that’s what one needs.

Entrance to the speakeasy is the door next to the road, if not you’ll end up at the restaurant (food was ok). Not sure why Google has hours listed at 6, we were told they open at 7. Nonetheless, this is a cool hidden spot! Aesthetic is nice and bartenders made some good drinks!

My rating is based on visiting on a Tuesday evening when only a few people where there. The place is really nice, cocktails were great, bartender/waiter was great. But not enough life to have a good time. It's probably way better when you visit with a bigger group or on weekends.

I liked the mystery if getting in by code. The drinks I don't know, ok. Ambience is just GREAT. Bartender was nice. Female DJ on vinyl night nice job. Floor space intimate, love it. Just add to the drink menu, I wish the menu had some bluesy sexy names, and more options. I did not enjoy my drink. BUT, will return.

I loved this place! I have always liked the “speakeasy ambiences” so when my husband find out about this one, he took me there as surprise – and… made me find it by giving me very few clues! Of course, being a speakeasy, the place is hidden: to access it you have to go into another bar, find the stairs that lead to the speakeasy, and have the right password to open the door. The entire search was fun! We came here late on a Sunday, and there were only two tables free. Both the stairs (covered in red carpet) and the small room were very dark, but this particular was just a nice/proper addition to the ambiance. The place is nicely decorated and also thanks to their lounge music in the background, it feels very warm, cozy and it’s very relaxing. Their bartender was very friendly and he can surely make great strong cocktails! I would say their prices are pretty much average for South Florida. I look forward to be back!
